Parent Letter

September 18, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians:

It’s difficult to believe that we have completed our third week of school already.  We are very happy to report that our re-opening has been very successful, and we achieved our goal of structuring  this in a manner that kept the safety of students and staff as the top priority. We are so very grateful to each of you for your support in the process.

It’s very clear to us that you prepared your child/ren for what to expect. This was evidenced by the wearing of masks, compliance with hygiene routines and quick adjustment to the new drop-off and pick-up and entering and exiting routines. We would also like to thank you for your patience and flexibility as we conducted staggered entry and for honoring the restrictions to the building that have been established.  We are grateful.

We continue to work closely with our partners and to respond to new situations as they arise, and look at how we can best support all student learning.  We encourage you to continue to reach out to the school administration with any specific questions or concerns, particularly where procedures may differ slightly from one school to another.

Lastly, just a reminder that if you have questions concerning self-isolation requirements in regards to illness in your household, or for your family, and attendance at school, please direct them to ProtectNWT or 811 for advice.

I hope that you continue to keep yourself safe and healthy.

God’s Blessings,

Simone Gessler
